The ARCGISREMOTE desktop provides access to ESRI ArcGIS Desktop software (version 10.x). HWS users can access this resource by signing in using your HWS username and password. Once users have logged in, the remote desktop will act just as physical public computer would on campus. All registered users will be able to access user-assigned network space (M: Drive) as well as map any external drive assigned for the completion of course work.
This article is also available in the Canvas Commons as a support module; and can be added to the GIS course(s). The username for accessing the remote desktop is the student HWS email: ab1234@hws.edu

1. Install the Microsoft Remote Desktop App
2. Proceed to the App store on your Mac laptop
3. Search for Microsoft Remote Desktop
4. Install the app to your laptop
5. Access ARCGISREMOTE virtual computer using Microsoft Remote Desktop

Accessing ARCGISREMOTE - Windows
1. Locate the desktop search, labeled Type here to Search
2. Type MSTSC (this will automatically launch the remote desktop access software)
3. Access ARCGISREMOTE virtual computer using the remote desktop access software
