Clearing your browser cache can resolve most website-related issues on any web browser. After clearing your browser cache, make sure you go to a website by typing in the web address; don't use a bookmark to access the website if it gives you issues since bookmarks will sometimes store the incorrect web address.
Below are instructions for clearing your browser cache in the most popular browsers on MacOS devices.
Safari
1. In the menu bar at the top-left, click Safari
2. Click Clear History
3. In the drop down menu, select the time range you want to clear
4. Click Clear History
5. In the Safari menu bar at the top, click Safari
6. Click Quit Safari
Chrome
1. On the browser toolbar, click the Chrome menu icon
2. Click More Tools
3. Click Clear browsing data
4. In the data drop-down menu, select the time range where you want to clear browsing data
5. Check Cookies and other site data
6. Check Cached images and files
7. Click Clear data
8. In the Chrome menu bar at the top, click Chrome
9. Click Quit Google Chrome
Firefox
1. In the Firefox menu bar, click Firefox
2. Click Preferences
3. In the left navigation menu, Click Privacy & Security
4. Under Cookies and Site Data, check Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed
5. Click Clear Data
6. Click Clear Now
7. In the Firefox menu bar at the top, click Firefox
8. Click Quit Firefox
Microsoft edge
1. On the browser toolbar, click the 3 dot icon at the top right
2. Click Settings
3. Select “Privacy, search, and services.” It should be the second option below the search bar.
4. Scroll down until you reach “Clear Browsing Data” and select “Choose what to clear.”
5. A window will pop up that indicates the types of data saved by your browser. “Cached images and files” should be the fourth options.
6. Choose the time range that best suits your needs. If you’d like to fully empty your cache, select “All time.” If you’d just like to delete information from hour, day, or week, those options are also available.
7. Once you’ve made your decision, click the blue “Clear now” button.
