Unable to add files or edit content in my Canvas Site

Summary

Courses go into a read-only state after each semester. Contact the Digital Learning Team for help.

Body

If you are unable to edit your Canvas site, it is most likely because the course is in a read-only state. Canvas sites automatically go into a read-only state several months after the conclusion of a term. Courses in this state can still be imported to the new semester's Canvas site if you wish to use and edit previous course materials.

If you need editing access to a previous semester's Canvas site - for example, to resolve a student's incomplete status - please contact the Digital Learning Team to restore temporary editing access so you can make necessary changes.
