Network Drives are used to store and access documents related to your organization by network users. These instructions are for mapping the network drives which will give you access to your or departments shared folder.

M: drive: This folder is typically used to store personal files for faculty, staff, and students.

N: drive: Folders located in this location on the file server containing many subfolders for course, department, and work group file sharing.

Note: If you are off-campus you will need to connect to VPN before you map or access the network drives

Mapping your HWS Network Drives

1. Open the Finder

2. On the "Finder" menu that appeared at the top of the screen choose Go > Connect to Server

3. In the Connect to Server dialog box, type the Server Address

  • M: drive is smb://fsrv/yourusername$

    • Note: Replace 'yourusername' with your own HWS username

  • N: drive is smb://fsrv/pccommon

4. Click the plus sign to add the address to your favorites

5. Click Connect

6. When prompted, type the username and password,

  • Username is your HWS username
  • Password is your HWS password

7. Click OK
