Before You Start

SpectrumU is a streaming service that lets you watch live TV and on-demand content. It is free for HWS students, faculty, and staff.

  • The SpectrumU app works on iOS and Android devices
  • You do not need to be connected to the HWS-Private network to use the app

Note: When connected to the HWS campus network, you have access to the full live TV channel lineup. When off-campus, you have access to limited on-demand content only.

Download and Sign In

1. Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and download the SpectrumU app

2. Open the SpectrumU app

3. On the Let's Find Your School screen; enter hws.edu

4. Tap Submit

5. You will be redirected to the HWS login portal; enter your HWS username and password

6. Tap Submit

Log in

7. After signing on, you will be redirected back the SpectrumnUapp; tap Watch TV

TV Streaming
HWS provides free TV streaming through SpectrumU. Students and employees can access up to 80 TV Channel apps, such as popular entertainment, international, and sports channels (see below) using your HWS credentials. Along with live TV, SpectrumU offers a sizeable on-demand library with previous episodes, full series, and hit movies when you watch on campus. You can also record up to 20 shows and watch them anytime using cloud DVR for on-campus viewing.
