In Slate, associating e-mails received in an external e-mail client (such as Outlook) with a Slate record, or adding messages sent outside of Slate to the appropriate record is done through an e-mail address unique to each Slate user. This unique e-mail address is found in the Gateway.
The gateway may be used by forwarding an e-mail to the gateway e-mail, or BCCing the gateway e-mail when sending a message. Note: you cannot assign an e-mail to more than one record at a time.
Each user has a gateway e-mail and must manage assigning e-mails to the appropriate records.
Use the instructions below to find the gateway e-mail address in Slate.
To find the gateway e-mail address:
- In Slate, go to Inbox > Gateway

- On the righthand side, at the bottom, select Connection Instructions
- Copy the e-mail address and close the dialogue
The e-mail address is unique to each user.

- Add the copied e-mail address to your e-mail address book
To use the gateway e-mail address, paste this e-mail address into the BCC line of your e-mail when replying to or forwarding a message.
