The Dock: Entering Name Pronunciation (Say My Name)

Use the instructions below to add your formal and preferred name pronunciation to The Dock.

To Enter Your Name Pronunciation:

Logging in to The Dock

  1. Go to https://success.hws.edu/portal/dock 
  2. Log in with your HWS username and password
  3. Locate the name pronunciation reminder
    Name Pronunciation Reminder
  4. On the reminder, click the link Click Here to Record Your Name

Recording

  1. For the name you wish to record (preferred or formal), click Re-Record Name
  2. Press Start
    Start recording
  3. Once the Ready button flashes, speak the pronunciation
  4. When you are done, press Stop

Checking Recording Quality

  1. Preview the recording, and if you like it, press Save; otherwise re-record (refer back to step 6)

Locating the Recording on The Dock

  1. Once saved, the name pronunciation tab on The Dock should look like this:
    myName
  2. Press the play and stop buttons to review your recording; if it is not to your standards, refer back to step 5
