Setting up Sending E-Mail on Behalf of Another User

Delegating access for someone to send e-mails on your behalf

Before You Start

  • Delegate permissions allow someone else to send messages on your behalf.
  • This can only be set up using the Outlook desktop client (not web or mobile).

Set Up Delegate Access

1. Start Outlook

2. From the task bar, click File

3. Click Account Settings

4. In the Account Settings drop down menu, click Delegate Access

5. In the Delegates window, Click Add

6. Select a user from the global address list, click Add

7. Check Automatically send a message to delegate summarizing these permissions

8. Click Ok

The delegate will receive an email confirming their permissions.
