IT Services subscribes to Atomic Learning (Infobase), a Web-based library of video tutorials on software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.), Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop and InDesign), iMovie and more.

The online learning management system may be used by students, faculty and staff at the Colleges to facilitate file sharing, digital assignment distribution and submission, asynchronous communication, collaborative writing, and more.

Hobart and William Smith Colleges has access to ESRI ArcGIS 10.X for desktop and associated resources for working with spatial data through a campus-wide education license. Both desktop software and online mapping tools are available, including the Community Analyst (demographic analysis) and Business Analyst (market research) tools. The ESRI software tool platform, ArcGIS, is a commercial GIS software tool that is widely used to display and examine spatial data. In addition to ESRI desktop tools, users can also share created data on the Internet using ArcServer and ArcGIS Online for Organizations software.
