Smart Classroom Quick Guide
Accessing Equipment
1. Open the cabinet to locate computer, DVD player, BluRay or VCR.
Activating the System
1. Touch the Touch Panel Screen located on the Teaching Station to wake it up (if it’s not already).
2. Touch the screen again to continue and follow instructions on screen. The device you choose will automatically turn on the projector and select the proper input.
Note: You can blank out the image being projected by pushing the Blank Screen button at any time. Push it again to turn the image back on.
Projecting from the PC
1. Select Computer on the Touch Panel Screen.
2. Using the computer in the podium, log on using your campus username and password.
3. Open the desired program and begin.
4. You can use the wireless mouse to control the computer while traveling around the room.
5. Use the Volume Up and Down buttons to adjust volume.
Projecting from your laptop
1. Connect your laptop using the HDMI cable on the podium. An HDMI dongle ring is available offering several connection options.
2. Select HDMI on the Touch Panel screen.
3. Log on using your campus username and password.
4. Use the Volume Up and Down buttons to adjust volume.
Projecting from Sharelink
1. Your device must be connected to the HWS wireless network.
2. Select ShareLink on the Touch Panel screen.
3. Connect your Laptop to ShareLink via a webrowser, follow instructions projected on the classroom screen.
Security Warning: Your web browser may give you a warning of a potential security threat. This is a false alarm and can be bypassed. To bypass the warning, click Show Details, then click Visit This Website to proceed.
Note: ShareLink is currently not accessible via IOS devices.
Projecting from the BLURAY DVD player
1. Insert your DVD into the player.
2. Select BLUDRAY on the Touch Panel screen.
3. Use the DVD controls on the Control Panel to operate the DVD player.
4. Use the Volume Up and Down buttons to adjust volume.
5. Press Return to go back to the main screen.
Shutting down the system
1. Log off the computer, retrieve DVD or VHS tape from the player.
2. Select Room Off on the Touch Panel screen.
3. Press Continue Shutdown on the screen to complete the system shut down.
Note: After pressing Continue Shutdown, it will take approximately 3 minutes for the system to completely shut down.
