Summary (what you get)
Campus printers are available for use by faculty, staff, and students. Printers are available across campus.
In addition, HWS offers a full service print shop that supports standard printing as well as non-standard offerings such as Fat Heads, graduation/event announcements, posters, wrapping paper, repositionable stickers, and more. Print Services is located in the basement of Scandling; orders can be made at printing.hws.edu.
Services Included
Faculty and Staff
- Faculty and staff print for free.
- Printers are available in all buildings across campus and are often shared by multiple people in an office or a floor.
- Each printer is named in the format of BUILDING _FLOOR_DEPARTMENT (example: LIBRARY_1_01 is the printer in the Library, 1st floor, adjacent to the Help Desk).
Students
- Students receive $25 worth of print credits at the beginning of each semester.
- The balance is refreshed at the beginning of each semester.
- Students can print to the multi-function device printers in some computer labs and the library using any public desktop computer, or through Web Print located at https://printit.hws.edu.
Printing from Personal Devices
Students, faculty, and staff can print from personal devices but ONLY to public printers through the print portal, https://printit.hws.edu. On the print portal you can:
- Send jobs to a printer
- View print history
- Cancel a job/request a refund
- View print rates
- Share print credits with another student
Service Does Not Include
- Special custom order prints such as posters can be purchased using print credits or direct payment. For these please contact Print Services.
When Customer Receives It
Faculty, staff, and students with active accounts will have access to campus printing. Faculty and staff who use an institutionally provided computer can print to any office MFDs. Students and faculty or staff who use personal devices can only print to printers available through
printit.hws.edu.
