Zoom provides AI-powered live captions and transcription. The live captions appear on the bottom of the screen, displaying what is being said in real-time. The live transcription can be enabled and opens on the right side of the meeting window. You can save the transcription for later use if the meeting is not being recorded.
These features can be enabled by the host for participants to view. Live transcription supports English language only. Speak clearly for the best results. These features are available on Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android version 5.0.2 and higher.
Note: Live captioning and transcription is not supported in breakout rooms.
To Enable Live Captioning and Transcription for All of Your Meetings
1. Go to https://hws.zoom.us
2. Click Login
3. Enter your HWS username and password
4. Click Submit
5. In the left navigation menu, click Settings
6. Click In Meeting (Advanced)
7. Under Closed captioning, check Enable live transcription service to show transcript on the side panel in-meeting
To Enable a Real-time Transcription During a Meeting
1. Start the transcription: click on Live Transcript
2. Click Enable Auto-Transcription
To Save the Transcript
1. Next to Live Transcription,click on the caret
2. Select View Full Transcript
3. Select Save Transcript
