Panopto – Zoom Video Storage
Panopto is the College’s video management platform for creating, storing, and sharing video content. It is widely used for lectures, meetings, training, and knowledge sharing. Panopto features include AI-powered search, automatic captions, Canvas integration, and interactive tools such as quizzes. Videos can include screen recordings, webcam video, and presentations, making content easy to search, view, and reuse for in-person, hybrid, or remote learning and training.
Zoom Recordings and Panopto Storage
HWS uses Zoom to record meetings, but Zoom is not used for long-term storage.
When a Zoom meeting ends:
-
The recording is rendered by Zoom.
-
Once rendering is complete, the video is automatically transferred to Panopto.
-
After the video is successfully uploaded to Panopto, it is deleted from Zoom.
Rendering and transfer typically take about one hour, depending on the length of the meeting. Longer meetings may take more time to process.
When the upload is complete, you will receive an email notification from Panopto confirming that your video is available to view, download, or share.
If You Don’t See Your Video
If you are expecting a recording but have not received a notification:
The Help Desk can locate the recording and send you the appropriate links.
