Configuring Off-Campus Access to the HWS Network [Windows]

To use the HWS network from off-campus, you will need to connect to a Virtual Private Network (VPN), using either web access or downloading the VPN client. Before connecting, you need to install the VPN software on your computer.

Note: You will not be able to use your knowledge-based questions to access this system, you will need to use one of the delivery methods available to receive your 6-digit passcode

To configure a PC for VPN:

1. Visit https://access.hws.edu/ to download and install the VPN client.

2. Enter your HWS username and password

3. Click Log In.

4. Select a method for receiving your passcode

5. Click OK

6. Enter the passcode you receive in the field

7. Click OK

8. When prompted to install the Secure Endpoint Manager, click Install

9. Save the file to your computer

10. Go to the file, double click to open

11. Once installed, click Continue

12. When prompted to open Secure Endpoint Manager, click Open

13. Go back to the browser you were using for access.hws.edu, click Install VPN Client

14. Click Install.

15. When the message Connect Tunnel Successfully Installed appears on the screen restart your computer to complete the installation.
