Embedding and Sharing Videos

Video and audio can be embedded on different web pages, like wordpress or wix, as well as in browser based mult-media tools like Adobe Spark. In addition, embedding or sharing videos and audio files on Canvas is a good way to ensure students have access to course materials in one, easy to find location.

Best Practices

  • When embedding a video in Canvas, always include a direct link to the video in addition to the embed in case people have trouble loading the video.
  • It is advisable to also include a disclaimer for students, above the video, in clear text, that indicates that they may wish to try another browser or use the direct link if the video does not load.
  •  If you have videos stored locally on your computer it is recommended that you upload them to Box before sharing with others or on Canvas.
